Two years ago, life was good; as far as our homegrown fruit was concerned anyway. We had an over abundance of peaches and pears. We enjoyed eating them fresh, cooking them and giving them away. That was then. And then last year the squirrels went nuts, so to say. We had squirrels in the front yard, side yard, back yard and especially in every fuit tree, bush and vine they could find. They were voracious! By the end of the season it was squirrels in walkover. They got it all and we got none. Well, not this year! It’s time for revenge, and it started this morning.

This squirrel succumbed to the temptation of peanut butter smeared on the paddle trigger. But it’s called a havaheart trap for a reason. No squirrel fricassee this time. I transported squirrel number one a distance away that I hope will diswade it from trying to return. Now the trap is baited for squirrel number two. And later numbers three, four, five and on and on until we are squirrel-less.
I have plans for their little cousins the chipmunks, but that is a story for another time.
Breaking news. I have squirrel number two in the trap. And on we go!

Squirreless? Good luck with that! Less squirrels obtainable. Its funny though, I haven’t seen one so far this year. Im sure they plan on coming soon and rearranging my bulbs for me. I end up with tulips growing in weird places.
